Push the king to the edge with the queen a knight’s jump away, then bring your own king close. Never take the king’s last square unless it is check!

What you learn here

King and queen against king is always a win. The method: use the queen to fence the king towards the edge, walk your king up to help, and give mate on the edge. Every time, check that Black still has a move — or it is stalemate, a draw.
