On a phone call the other person cannot see your face, so your words and tone do all the work. A good call goes: greet the person, say who you are, say why you called, listen and answer, then thank them and say bye. On video calls, find a quiet place, keep the camera at eye level and mute when you are not talking. Never share your address or details with a stranger on the phone, and remember 112 — India’s emergency number for police, fire and ambulance.
