Business tip

Know your numbers — “cost, price, profit, break-even, budget, records and interest”

  1. Profit = SP − CP; loss = CP − SP; cost of one = batch cost ÷ number.
  2. Break-even = fixed costs ÷ profit on one; markup = cost × % ÷ 100.
  3. Profit = income − expenses; simple interest = P × R × T ÷ 100.

Use it for: Revision after Part 2, before running a real stall.

Worked example: ⚖️ “Break-even” means… → sales = all costs

  1. At break-even, money from sales just covers all the costs.
  2. So: sales = all costs.
