Table of 8 — Tables & Multiplication Mastery

8 = 2 × 2 × 2, so you can find any answer in the 8 table just by doubling three times. Every answer is even.

How it works

Double three times — “8 × n is n doubled, doubled and doubled again”

  1. Double the number three times: 6 → 12 → 24 → 48.
  2. Or double the 4 table: 4 × 7 = 28, so 8 × 7 = 56.
  3. Near 10? 8 × 9 = 80 − 8 = 72.

Use it for: Legs of an octopus or a spider, 8 slices of a pizza, and checking the 4 and 16 tables.

Worked example: 8 × 6 = 48

  1. Double 6: 12.
  2. Double again: 24.
  3. Double once more: 48.

Check: 8 × 5 + 8 = 40 + 8 = 48 ✓
