Data reasoning — Logical reasoning for kids

How to think it through

Read, then compare — “find the values the question needs, then add, subtract or compare”

  1. Read the table and underline the values the question needs.
  2. Total: add all. Difference: bigger − smaller. Most/fewest: compare every value.
  3. “More than 30” does not include 30 itself — check each value.

Use it for: Data interpretation in Olympiads, aptitude tests and Class 6–10 maths (tables and bar graphs).

Worked example: Runs scored in a cricket match: Aarav 34, Diya 28, Kabir 45, Meera 19, Rohan 31. What is the difference between the highest and the lowest? → 26

  1. Highest: Kabir 45. Lowest: Meera 19.
  2. 45 − 19 = 26.

Check: 19 + 26 = 45 ✓
