The method

Name the type — “bill, change, cost of many, price of one, better buy, discount or budget?”

  1. Decide the type of question first.
  2. Use that lesson’s method and work step by step.
  3. Check that the answer makes sense: change is less than the note, a sale price is less than the price.

Use it for: Revision before a Class 3, 4 or 5 maths test on money.

Worked example: One samosa costs ₹15. How much do 6 samosas cost (in ₹)? → 90

  1. Cost of many = price of one × number.
  2. 15 × 6 = 90.

Check: 90 ÷ 6 = 15 ✓
