Easy drawings for kids — how to draw step by step

Pick a picture and draw it in six easy steps. Each step adds just a few new lines (shown in orange), so children aged 4–10 can follow along with a pencil, then colour their drawing.

Drawing tips for kids

✏️ Draw lightly first

Use a pencil and press softly — light lines are easy to rub out.

🔍 Look at the orange lines

Each step adds only the orange lines. Everything grey is already on your paper.

🔵 Start with big shapes

Circles, ovals and triangles first; small details like eyes and whiskers last.

🎨 Colour it in

Go over the final lines with a dark pencil or pen, then colour your picture any way you like.
