How to draw a cat — easy step-by-step drawing for kids
Draw a cat in 6 simple steps. In every picture the new lines are orange and the lines you have already drawn are grey — so you always know what to add next.
Step by step
Step 1 Draw a big circle for the head.
Step 2 Add two pointy triangle ears on top of the head.
Step 3 Draw two round eyes, a small triangle nose and a curvy smile.
Step 4 Add three whiskers on each side of the nose.
Step 5 Draw a pear-shaped body under the head.
Step 6 Add two front paws and a long curly tail. Now colour your cat!
Drawing tips for kids
✏️ Draw lightly first Use a pencil and press softly — light lines are easy to rub out.
🔍 Look at the orange lines Each step adds only the orange lines. Everything grey is already on your paper.
🔵 Start with big shapes Circles, ovals and triangles first; small details like eyes and whiskers last.
🎨 Colour it in Go over the final lines with a dark pencil or pen, then colour your picture any way you like.
