How to draw a house — easy step-by-step drawing for kids
Draw a house in 6 simple steps. In every picture the new lines are orange and the lines you have already drawn are grey — so you always know what to add next.
Step by step
Step 1 Draw a big square for the walls.
Step 2 Draw a triangle roof on top.
Step 3 Draw a door in the middle with a round handle.
Step 4 Add two square windows with a cross in each.
Step 5 Draw a chimney on the roof with a puff of smoke.
Step 6 Draw the ground and a path to the door. Colour your house!
Drawing tips for kids
✏️ Draw lightly first Use a pencil and press softly — light lines are easy to rub out.
🔍 Look at the orange lines Each step adds only the orange lines. Everything grey is already on your paper.
🔵 Start with big shapes Circles, ovals and triangles first; small details like eyes and whiskers last.
🎨 Colour it in Go over the final lines with a dark pencil or pen, then colour your picture any way you like.
