    How to say it

Letter names: H = aych, W = double-u, Z = zed; two same letters = double — “Spelling aloud = say each letter name clearly”

    1. English has 26 letters: 5 vowels (A, E, I, O, U) and 21 consonants. Learn each letter's NAME: H = 'aych', W = 'double-u', Z = 'zed'.
    2. To spell, say the letters one by one. For two same letters together say 'double': double L, double E (दो एक जैसे अक्षर = double).
    3. Email: @ = 'at', . = 'dot', _ = 'underscore', - = 'hyphen'. Example: ravi dot k at example dot com.
    4. Capitals for names, places, the word I and the first word of a sentence. Abbreviations are said letter by letter: ID, PDF, ATM.

Use it for: Booking tickets on the phone, filling forms, giving your email at a college office, spelling your name at a reception.

Worked example: Pillai has a double L in the middle.

    1. Try each option in the gap: a double / a twice / a pair.
    2. Two same letters together = double L (दो एक जैसे अक्षर साथ हों तो 'double' बोलते हैं)।

Check: I can spell my name, my city and my email aloud, letter by letter. ✓
