Tricky sounds for Hindi speakers — English speaking course in Hindi

    How to say it

V = top teeth on lower lip; W = round lips; TH = tongue between teeth — “Clear sounds = clear meaning”

    1. V: top teeth touch the lower lip (very, van). W: round the lips, no teeth (water, window). Vest ≠ west.
    2. Z buzzes like a bee (zoo, zero, busy); J is like ज (jam, joke). Zero is not 'jero'.
    3. TH: tongue lightly between the teeth. Think, thank, three (no voice) — this, that, mother (with voice). Not 'tink' or 'dis'.
    4. Sh (श) vs s (स): ship / sip, she / see. Start sk-, st-, sp- words directly: school, station, speak — not iskool, istation.

Use it for: Interviews, phone calls, presentations, ordering at a counter — clear sounds help people understand you the first time.

Worked example: Please close the window; it is raining.

    1. Try each option in the gap: window / vindow / windo.
    2. window starts with W: round lips, no teeth — W में होंठ गोल, दाँत नहीं।

Check: I can say 'very well', 'thank you' and 'school' clearly, without 'wery', 'tank' or 'iskool'. ✓
