    How to say it

Please + request · Thank you for + thing · Sorry for + mistake · Excuse me + question — “Small magic words make every sentence polite”

    1. Ask with 'please': Please pass the salt. / Could you please wait? (कृपया…)
    2. Thank with 'for': Thank you for your help. Thanks a lot for the tea. (…के लिए धन्यवाद)
    3. Apologise: Sorry, I am late. / I am sorry for the delay. Use 'Excuse me' before you ask or interrupt.
    4. Reply: You're welcome. / No worries. / Pardon? (= please say it again — फिर से कहिए?)

Use it for: Asking a shopkeeper, stopping someone on the road, coming late to class, bumping into someone, thanking a helper.

Worked example: Thank you for your help.

    1. Try each option in the gap: for / to / of.
    2. Thank someone FOR something. (किसी चीज़ के लिए धन्यवाद = thank you for.)

Check: Can I say one 'please', one 'thank you for' and one 'sorry for' sentence right now? ✓
