    How to say it

Positive sentence → negative tag; negative sentence → positive tag — “Could you tell me where the bank is? (not where is the bank)”

    1. Positive → negative tag: It's hot, isn't it? You live here, don't you? She can cook, can't she? (है ना?)
    2. Negative → positive tag: You aren't busy, are you? He didn't call, did he? Use the same helping verb; I am → aren't I?
    3. Polite questions: Could you tell me…? / Do you know…? Then normal word order: Could you tell me where the bank is?
    4. Indirect yes/no questions use if: Do you know if the shop is open? (not 'is the shop open').

Use it for: Small talk, checking information, asking strangers for directions, and talking politely to seniors and officials.

Worked example: It's a lovely day, isn't it?

    1. Try each option in the gap: isn't / is / doesn't.
    2. Positive sentence with is → negative tag isn't — हाँ वाले वाक्य के बाद ना वाला tag।

Check: I can say 'It's late, isn't it?' and 'Could you tell me where the lift is?' in the right order. ✓
