    How to say it

    Question word + do / does / did / is / are + subject + verb? — “What = क्या, Who = कौन, How = कैसे, How much / many = कितना / कितने”

    1. Pattern: What / How + do / does / did + subject + verb? What do you do? How does she go to work? (क्या / कैसे)
    2. With be: What is your name? Who is your teacher? When who asks about the doer, no do: Who called you? (किसने)
    3. How much = price or uncountable (How much is this? How much water?); How many = countable (How many students?).
    4. How long = time or length (How long is the train journey?); How often = how many times (How often do you go to the gym?).

Use it for: Shops, college offices, new friends, phone calls, travel — asking prices, names, ways and timings.

Worked example: What is your favourite subject?

    1. Try each option in the gap: What / Who / How.
    2. What asks about a thing — चीज़ के बारे में पूछने के लिए What (क्या)।

Check: I can ask 'How much is this?', 'Who is your teacher?' and 'How often do you…?' without mistakes. ✓
