Most clear speakers say about 120–150 words a minute. So a 2-minute speech at about 130 words a minute needs about 130 × 2 = 260 words. Divide to find the time: 450 words at 150 words a minute take 450 ÷ 150 = 3 minutes. If your draft is too long, cut the weakest part — never rush.
