Reading tip

Who, to whom, what, when — “every note says who wrote it, to whom, what to do and when”

  1. The first line says who the note is for (Dear Riya).
  2. The last line says who wrote it.
  3. Look for the day, the time and the place in the middle.

Use it for: Reading notes at home and school, birthday invitations, and Class 2 message writing.

Worked example: Who wrote the note? → Mum

  1. Read the passage: Dear Aarav, / I have gone to the market to buy vegetables. Your lunch is in the blue box on the table. Please feed the fish before you go to play. / Love, / Mum
  2. Find the line with the answer: “Love, Mum”
  3. These words give the answer: Mum.

Check: The line “Love, Mum” gives exactly “Mum” ✓
