Reading tip

Beginning, middle, end — “find what happened first, next and last”

  1. Read the story once, all the way through.
  2. For “why” questions, look for “because” or “so”.
  3. For “what happened first / next”, follow the story in order.

Use it for: Class 2 English reading, story worksheets and school comprehension tests.

Worked example: Where did Riya find the kitten? → under the stairs

  1. Read the passage: Riya found a small kitten under the stairs. It was wet and shivering. She dried it with a soft towel. Then she gave it a bowl of warm milk.
  2. Find the line with the answer: “Riya found a small kitten under the stairs.”
