About these worksheets

A hundred chart is the most useful single page in early maths. It shows all the numbers from 1 to 100 in rows of ten, so children can see patterns: every number in a column ends with the same digit, and each row starts with a new ten. These printable charts include blank and partly filled 1–100 charts to complete, charts that colour the even and odd numbers, and skip-counting charts for 3s, 4s, 5s and 10s.

Use them in UKG to learn the order of numbers, in Class 1 for counting on and back, and in Class 2 as a bridge to multiplication tables — counting by 5s on a chart is the table of 5. Stick one chart on the wall and use the others as worksheets: fill the missing numbers, then colour a pattern and talk about what you see. Ask questions such as “What is 10 more than 34?” and let the child find it by moving one row down.

Skills practised

  • Counting and writing numbers 1 to 100
  • Even and odd numbers
  • Skip counting by 2s, 3s, 4s, 5s and 10s
  • Place value: tens and ones
  • Seeing number patterns (10 more, 1 less)

How to use these sheets

  1. Read the chart aloud, pointing to each number.
  2. Fill in the missing numbers row by row.
  3. Colour the numbers the sheet asks for (even numbers, counting by 5s …).
  4. Talk about the pattern the colours make.

Tip for parents and teachers: Play “jump on the chart”: put a coin on a number and give a rule (“add 10”, “take away 1”). Children discover that +10 is one row down without being told.
